One great way to organize information from a text is to make an outline. There are three ways to create an outline:

Chapter 12: What's In Our World?
There are many bodies in space that are not actual planets. Let's learn about a few of them.
Pluto
Discovery Pluto was discovered in 1930. Most planets were discovered before the invention of the telescope. Only Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune were discovered afterwards. At that time, it was said to be the ninth planet.
Characteristics The surface of Pluto is solid. However, it is icier than most of the other planets with solid surfaces. It is smaller than the other planets in our solar system. In fact, it is even smaller than our moon. It is also further from the sun than any other planet.
Classification Pluto was known as the ninth planet until 2006. It was then reclassified as a dwarf planet. Dwarf planets do not have a strong enough gravitational pull to affect objects near their orbits. In other words, they share the space in which they orbit with other objects that have a similar size. However, they are similar to planets in every other way.
