Once you have a planner, always write down your assignments for every subject, every day. If there are no assignments for a certain subject, write "none" in that section of the planner. It is a good habit to get into.
Some schools post assignments on their Web site. Be careful not to rely on this because it could be outdated. Use your planner to set up and track short- and long-term goals.
A planner is a helpful tool because it shows all of the day's homework in one spot. You can check your planner before leaving school so that you know which books to bring home that evening. But remember, a planner can only help you succeed in school if you use it!
A monthly planner is helpful because you can record long-term assignments or projects. Monthly planners show "the big picture" in a given month and help you plan your weekly schedules and daily action lists.
The daily section is the spot where you write down daily homework assignments, sports, or music practice. You can also move some of the long-term items from your monthly planner into the daily section as each event gets closer.
